Improve Your Posture workshop

Embrace the wisdom of your body and discover how breathwork, somatic movement and yoga can help you improve your posture and wellbeing.
This 2 hour experiential workshop is guided by Denise Gaskell who will lead you on a journey through breathwork, yoga and somatics into a deeper, holistic understanding of your body.
- Explore the effects of habitual movement, tension, breath, energy and emotions on your posture and their relationship to pain and discomfort.
- Understand the importance of the natural curves of the spine and how they contribute to bodily function.
- Recognise the profound benefits of good posture and the importance of the relationship between mind, body and breath.
- Develop the ability to use internal sensing, touch and slow, focused movement to release tension, boost energy and improve your posture in a way that honours your unique body and experience.
A combination of discussion, practice and Q&As, the aim of the workshop is to leave you with a simple, practical portable knowledge that you can employ to help you regularly monitor, maintain and improve your posture.
No experience necessary and all abilities are welcome. Places are limited.
This workshop is for you if:
- You spend the majority of your working hours sitting
- You regularly face discomfort or pain such as headaches, back/neck/hip/shoulder pain or knee issues due to poor posture
- You feel your breath mostly in the chest and collar bone area
- You have poor posture and experience digestive issues.

Can I attend if I've never done breathwork, yoga or Somatics before?
Yes. This workshop is open to complete beginners as well as all levels of movement and breathwork practitioner. The practice can also be done on a chair if you have difficulty getting up and down of the floor.
What do I need for the workshop?
You will need:
- A yoga mat, a yoga belt, a dressing gown belt or a long scarf.
- A chair (optional)
- A cushion or a folded blanket.
- Water to keep you hydrated.
Are there any contraindications for the workshop?
It is essential that you seek advice from a medical professional if you have an existing medical condition that could affect your ability to participate in this workshop.
